Smoked Sweet Potato Brownies

These Smoked Sweet Potato Brownies come out incredibly fudgy, rich, and slightly smoky from the grill. Sweet potatoes add moisture and natural sweetness, making them dense and decadent. Perfect for a backyard dessert after grilling.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed smoked sweet potato
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

How to Make Them

1. Smoke the Sweet Potato

Preheat smoker to 275°F.

Pierce a sweet potato and smoke for 60–75 minutes until soft.

Scoop out flesh and mash until smooth.

2. Make the Brownie Batter

In a bowl mix:

mashed sweet potato

melted butter

brown sugar

white sugar

Add eggs and vanilla and whisk until smooth.

Stir in:

cocoa powder

flour

salt

baking powder

Fold in chocolate chips.

3. Smoke the Brownies

Grease a cast-iron skillet or 8x8 pan.

Pour batter in and place on smoker at 300°F.

Cook 30–40 minutes until the center is just set.
