Red, White & Blue Cheese Stuffed Smoked Pears
This version leans sweet, smoky, and savory with the bold bite of blue cheese. It works great as either a BBQ appetizer or light dessert.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe Bosc or Anjou pears, halved and cored
- 4 oz crumbled blue cheese
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp Girls Gone Grillin’ SPG with a Kiss of Onion (optional but excellent with pears)
- ½ cup fresh blueberries
- ½ cup raspberries or chopped strawberries
- 2 tbsp candied pecans or chopped toasted pecans
- Honey for drizzle
Instructions
- Preheat smoker
- Set smoker to 250°F using pecan, apple, or cherry wood.
- Prep pears
- Slice pears in half and scoop out seeds to create a small cavity.
- Season
- Sprinkle the cut pears lightly with brown sugar and SPG with a Kiss of Onion.
- Stuff with blue cheese
- Fill each pear half with crumbled blue cheese.
Smoke
Place pears on a grill pan or cast iron skillet.
Smoke 25–35 minutes, until pears are soft and the cheese begins to melt.
Top it off
Remove from smoker and add:
blueberries
raspberries or strawberries
toasted pecans
Finish
Drizzle with warm honey.
Flavor Tip
