Red, White & Blue Cheese Stuffed Smoked Pears

Red, White & Blue Cheese Stuffed Smoked Pears

This version leans sweet, smoky, and savory with the bold bite of blue cheese. It works great as either a BBQ appetizer or light dessert.

  • 4 oz crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp Girls Gone Grillin’ SPG with a Kiss of Onion (optional but excellent with pears)
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries
  • ½ cup raspberries or chopped strawberries
  • 2 tbsp candied pecans or chopped toasted pecans
  • Honey for drizzle

Instructions

  • Preheat smoker
  • Set smoker to 250°F using pecan, apple, or cherry wood.
  • Prep pears
  • Slice pears in half and scoop out seeds to create a small cavity.
  • Season
  • Sprinkle the cut pears lightly with brown sugar and SPG with a Kiss of Onion.
  • Stuff with blue cheese
  • Fill each pear half with crumbled blue cheese.

Smoke

Smoke 25–35 minutes, until pears are soft and the cheese begins to melt.

Top it off

Remove from smoker and add:

blueberries

raspberries or strawberries

toasted pecans

Finish

Drizzle with warm honey.

Flavor Tip

If you want to push the flavor even further for your Girls Gone Grillin’ style, add a very light drizzle of balsamic glaze right before serving.
