Pork Chops with Caramelized Apples (Girls Gone Grillin’ Style)

Juicy pork chops with buttery, sweet-tart apples and a touch of savory seasoning—perfect for cast iron or the grill.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 apples, sliced (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced (optional but delicious)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Girls Gone Grillin’ S.P.G. Plus a Kiss of Onion BBQ seasoning
  • ½ tsp fresh thyme or rosemary
  • Splash of apple cider or bourbon (optional)

Instructions

Season the pork: Pat chops dry and season generously on both sides.

Sear: Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high. Add olive oil and sear pork chops 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Remove and tent.

Caramelize apples: Lower heat to medium. Add butter, apples, and onion. Cook 5–7 minutes until softened. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and herbs.

Deglaze (optional): Add a splash of apple cider or bourbon and simmer 1–2 minutes.

Finish: Return pork chops to the skillet, spoon apples over top, and cook 2–3 minutes until chops reach 145°F. Rest 5 minutes.
