Pecan Glaze Ham (Girls Gone Grillin’ Style)

Pecan Glaze Ham (Girls Gone Grillin’ Style)

This one is a showstopper—sweet, nutty, sticky glaze with that deep caramelized finish. Perfect for holidays or feeding a crowd.

Ingredients

  • Ham:
  • 1 fully cooked spiral ham (8–10 lbs)
  • Pecan Glaze:
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup maple syrup (those maple tones pair perfectly with pecan )
  • ¼ cup Girls Gone Grillin’ Pecan Whisper BBQ Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp SPG with a Kiss of Onion
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

1. Prep the Ham

Preheat smoker or oven to 275°F

Place ham cut-side down in a foil pan

Add a splash of apple juice or water to keep it juicy

Cover loosely with foil

2. Warm the Ham

Cook for about 2–2.5 hours until internal temp hits ~120–130°F

3. Make the Glaze

In a saucepan, combine:

brown sugar, maple syrup, butter, mustard, BBQ sauce, SPG

Simmer until thick and glossy (about 5–7 minutes)

Stir in chopped pecans at the end

4. Glaze + Caramelize

Remove foil and brush a generous layer of glaze

Increase temp to 325°F

Glaze every 15 minutes for about 45 minutes

Let it get sticky, dark, and caramelized

5. Rest + Serve

Let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing

Spoon extra glaze from the pan over the top

Pro Tips (This is where it hits different)

Throw it on the smoker with pecan wood for that layered flavor

Hit it with one last glaze right before serving for that glossy finish

Add a splash of bourbon to the glaze if you want to take it up a notch
