Onion Scallion Beef

Onion Scallion Beef

A fast, savory dish loaded with tender beef, sweet caramelized onions, and fresh scallions. This works great on a grill griddle, cast-iron skillet, or wok and would be perfect to add your Girls Gone Grillin’ SPG with a Kiss of Onion for extra flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 4–5 scallions (green onions), cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp oil (avocado or vegetable)
  • 1 tsp Girls Gone Grillin’ SPG with a Kiss of Onion

Instructions

Prep the beef

Toss sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Let it sit 10 minutes.

Sear the beef

Heat a wok or cast-iron skillet on high heat with oil.

Add beef and sear quickly until browned (about 2–3 minutes). Remove and set aside.

Cook onions

In the same pan add the sliced onions and garlic. Cook until softened and slightly caramelized.

Combine

Return the beef to the pan. Add scallions and water. Toss everything together and cook another minute until glossy.

Finish

Sprinkle with SPG with a Kiss of Onion and serve hot.

Serve With

Steamed rice

Garlic noodles

Grilled bok choy

Or even on a toasted hoagie for an Asian-style steak sandwich

Girls Gone Grillin’ Tip:

This is amazing cooked on a flat-top griddle and finished with a little compound butter.
