Lime Pepper Seared or Grilled Scallops – Girls Gone Grillin’ Style
with Sassy Seafood Citrus Seasoning
These are bright, buttery, and just fancy enough to feel like a flex—without being fussy. Perfect for a hot grill or a screaming-hot skillet.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large sea scallops, side muscle removed
- 1–2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- Sassy Seafood Citrus Seasoning (generous but not caked)
- Fresh cracked black pepper
- Zest of 1 lime
- Lime wedges, for finishing
- Optional: chopped cilantro or parsley
Prep (Don’t Skip This)
Pat scallops very dry with paper towels (this = golden crust).
Lightly coat with oil or butter.
Season both sides with Sassy Seafood Citrus Seasoning, cracked pepper, and lime zest.
Let sit at room temp for 10 minutes.
Seared (Cast Iron or Flat Top)
Heat skillet over medium-high to high until HOT.
Add a touch of oil.
Place scallops down without crowding.
Sear 1½–2 minutes per side until golden.
Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime.
Grilled
Preheat grill to high heat (450–500°F).
Lightly oil grates.
Grill scallops 1½–2 minutes per side, lid closed.
Pull as soon as they’re opaque and firm (don’t overcook!).
Finish Like a Pro
Brush with lime butter (butter + lime juice + pinch of Sassy Seafood).
Sprinkle fresh herbs.
Serve with grilled asparagus, citrus rice, or a light pasta.
