Jalapeño Popper Fried Shrimp Girls Gone Grillin' Style

Jalapeño Popper Fried Shrimp

A crispy shrimp appetizer with all the flavors of a jalapeño popper—cream cheese, jalapeños, cheddar, and bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 fresh jalapeño, finely diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Girls Gone Grillin’ S.P.G. Plus a Kiss of Onion BBQ seasoning
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Make the filling

Mix cream cheese, jalapeño, cheddar cheese, bacon, and half of the SPG seasoning.

Prepare the shrimp

Butterfly each shrimp by cutting along the back, being careful not to cut all the way through.

Spoon a small amount of the jalapeño popper mixture into each shrimp.

Bread the shrimp

Combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and remaining SPG seasoning.

Dredge shrimp in flour, dip in egg, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.

Fry

Heat oil to 350°F.

Fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

Drain on a wire rack or paper towels.

Optional Dipping Sauce

Mix:

½ cup ranch dressing

1 tbsp diced pickled jalapeños

1 tsp jalapeño juice

Serve hot with the jalapeño ranch and extra crumbled bacon on top. Perfect for game day, parties, or as a seafood appetizer.
