Grilled Tri-Tip-Girls Gone Grillin’ Style

Grilled Tri-Tip-Girls Gone Grillin’ Style

Juicy, bold, and packed with flavor, this grilled tri-tip is a backyard classic that never disappoints.

Ingredients

  • 1½–2 lb tri-tip roast
  • Olive oil (enough to coat)
  • Girls Gone Grillin’ SPG with a Kiss of Onion (generous coating)
  • Optional: garlic butter or herb butter for finish

Instructions

Prep the Tri-Tip

Pat the tri-tip dry and lightly coat with olive oil. Season generously on all sides with SPG with a Kiss of Onion.

Pro tip: Let it sit at room temp for 30 minutes before grilling.

Preheat the Grill

Heat your grill to medium-high heat (400–450°F). Set up for two-zone cooking if possible.

Sear

Place tri-tip over direct heat and sear for 4–5 minutes per side until a nice crust forms.

Finish Cooking

Move to indirect heat, close the lid, and cook until internal temp reaches:

125–130°F for medium-rare

135°F for medium

Rest & Slice

Remove from grill and rest 10- 20 minutes. Slice against the grain (this is key for tenderness).

Serve

Finish with a pat of garlic or herb butter if desired and serve with grilled veggies, potatoes, or a fresh salad

Girls Gone Grillin’ Tips

Tri-tip has two grain directions—rotate your knife halfway through slicing.

Leftovers make incredible steak sandwiches, tacos, or salads.

Add chimichurri or a horseradish cream for next-level flavor.
