Grilled Shrimp Gyros with Lime Tzatziki Sauce 

A fresh, smoky gyro that’s perfect for the grill. The grilled shrimp pair beautifully with a bright lime tzatziki and warm pita.

Ingredients

  • Shrimp
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Girls Gone Grillin’ SPG with a Kiss of Onion
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Lime Tzatziki Sauce
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried)
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • Zest of ½ lime
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch salt

Gyro Assembly

  • 4 warm pita breads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup thin sliced red onion
  • Optional: crumbled feta cheese

Instructions

1. Season the Shrimp

Toss shrimp with olive oil, SPG with a Kiss of Onion, paprika, oregano, and lime zest.

Let sit 10–15 minutes while the grill heats.

2. Make the Lime Tzatziki

In a bowl mix:

Greek yogurt

grated cucumber

garlic

dill

lime juice & zest

olive oil

salt

Stir well and refrigerate until ready to use.

3. Grill the Shrimp

Preheat grill to medium-high (400°F).

Thread shrimp onto skewers or use a grill basket.

Grill 1–2 minutes per side until pink and lightly charred.

4. Build the Gyros

Warm pita on the grill for about 30 seconds per side.

Fill with:

grilled shrimp

lettuce

tomatoes

red onion

drizzle of lime tzatziki

feta if desired

Lightly brush the pita with olive oil and sprinkle a tiny pinch of SPG with a Kiss of Onion before warming it on the grill. It adds amazing flavor and ties the whole gyro together.
