Flat Iron Steak Crostini Bites (Girls Gone Grillin’ Style)
Ingredients
- Steak
- 1 flat iron steak (about 1–1½ lb)
- Olive oil
- Salt & cracked black pepper
- Optional but : garlic powder or your favorite steak seasoning
- Crostini
- 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
- Olive oil
- 1 clove garlic (optional, for rubbing)
- Topping ideas (pick one or mix it up)
- Chimichurri sauce
- Horseradish cream
- Blue cheese crumbles
- Goat cheese or whipped ricotta
- Balsamic glaze
- Caramelized onions
Instructions
1. Grill or Sear the Flat Iron
Bring steak to room temp (about 30 min).
Rub with olive oil and season generously.
Grill over medium-high heat or sear in a cast-iron skillet.
4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
Rest 10 minutes, then slice thin against the grain.
2. Make the Crostini
Brush baguette slices with olive oil.
Grill or toast at 375°F until golden (about 5–7 minutes).
Optional pro move: rub warm crostini with a cut garlic clove.
3. Assemble
Spread cheese or sauce on crostini.
Add a slice of flat iron steak.
Finish with chimichurri, balsamic drizzle, or onions.
Sprinkle flaky salt on top and serve warm.
