Family-Style Steak Sandwich with Arugula & Pickled Onions

Ingredients

Quick Pickled Onions

  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Combine everything, rest 20–30 minutes.

Instructions

Season & Grill: Oil and season steak. Grill hot (450–500°F) to desired doneness, about 4–5 min per side for medium-rare.

Rest & Slice: Rest 10 minutes, then slice thin against the grain.

Toast Bread: Lightly toast bread on the grill or in a skillet.

Serve Family-Style: Pile sliced steak on a board with arugula, pickled onions, and sauce on the side. Let everyone build.

Pro Tips

Finish steak with a drizzle of olive oil or a pat of butter.

Add shaved parmesan or provolone if you want it cheesy.
