Cherry Chipotle Glazed Duck Breast (Girls Gone Grillin’ Style)

Ingredients

  • 2 duck breasts
  • Girls Gone Grillin’ SPG with a Kiss of Onion
  • Optional: pinch of Hot Hens (if you want extra heat)
  • Cherry Chipotle Glaze:
  • ½ cup Cherry Chipotle BBQ Sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp butter

Step-by-Step

1. Prep the duck

Pat dry (VERY important for crispy skin)

Score the skin in a crosshatch pattern (don’t cut into meat)

Season both sides with SPG

2. Render & crisp (start in a cold pan)

Place duck skin-side down in a cold cast iron

Turn heat to medium

Let fat slowly render (8–10 minutes)

You’ll get that golden, crispy skin 

3. Flip & finish

Flip and cook another 4–6 minutes (medium rare is best)

Remove and rest 5–10 minutes

4. Make the glaze

In same pan (drain excess fat, leave a little):

Add BBQ sauce, honey, balsamic

Simmer until slightly thickened

Stir in butter at the end for shine

5. Slice & finish

Slice duck against the grain

Spoon glaze over top (don’t drown it)
