Biscuits and Gravy (Girls Gone Grillin’ Style)

Nothing says comfort food like homemade biscuits smothered in creamy sausage gravy. Let’s give it that bold, backyard flavor you’re known for

Fluffy Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup (1 stick) cold butter, cubed
  • ¾–1 cup cold buttermilk

Directions:

Preheat grill or oven to 425°F (you can bake these on the smoker for a light wood-fired touch).

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Cut in cold butter until crumbly.

Stir in buttermilk just until combined.

Pat out dough, fold once or twice, and cut biscuits.

Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.

Sausage Gravy

Ingredients:

1 lb breakfast sausage

3 tbsp flour

2½ cups whole milk

½ tsp black pepper (or more if you like it bold)

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

Optional: pinch red pepper flakes

Girls Gone Grillin’ Upgrade:

Add a light sprinkle of your SPG with a Kiss of Onion for extra depth.

Directions:

Brown sausage in a cast-iron skillet (perfect for the grill).

Sprinkle flour over cooked sausage and stir 1–2 minutes.

Slowly whisk in milk.

Simmer until thick and creamy.

Season to taste.

To Serve

Split warm biscuits and ladle that thick, peppery gravy right over the top. Add fresh cracked pepper and a sprinkle of chopped parsley for that photo-ready finish.
